RV Brands We Service in Chino, CA
McBride's works on every major RV brand on the road, and we have been doing it from the same shop in Chino since 1967. But the brand on the front cap is the least useful thing about your coach when it comes to getting it fixed. What decides the repair is what is underneath: the chassis it sits on, how the walls are built, and which supplier made the part that failed. That is how we have organized this page. Do you service Class A gas motorhomes?
The big square-fronted coaches, roughly 28 to 38 feet, built on the Ford F-53 chassis with a gas V8 up front. Winnebago, Thor Motor Coach, Fleetwood, Holiday Rambler, Forest River and Coachmen have all built large volumes of them, and they are the most common Class A parked around the Inland Empire.
We service the F-53 chassis and the house sitting on it in the same building, which on a vehicle this size is the whole point. Over 40 years of Ford chassis work sits behind that. It is work we do, not a certificate anyone issued us, and we keep that distinction straight.
What we see on these coaches. Front and rear cap seams are the highest-maintenance joint on the vehicle and they are what put most owners into a roof conversation. Full body paint on the higher trim levels looks expensive because it is, and Inland Empire sun takes the clear coat first. Chassis maintenance gets skipped more than anything else on a motorhome. A coach measures its life in trips, while the chassis under it is counting miles and calendar months, and sitting still is its own kind of wear on brakes and suspension.

Do you work on diesel pushers?
Engine at the back, air brakes, air suspension, and a chassis from Freightliner or Spartan rather than Ford. Newmar, Tiffin, Fleetwood, Holiday Rambler, Winnebago and Thor all build in this class. These are heavier, more complex, and they punish deferred maintenance harder than a gas coach does.
We service the Freightliner and Spartan chassis under these coaches, with 15+ years of Freightliner work behind us. Same rule as above: that is what we do, not a badge a manufacturer handed us, and we say which is which out loud.
What we see on these coaches. Air systems that have been sitting, hydraulic slide rooms out of adjustment, and generator sets that will not start because they have not run. Full body paint is standard rather than optional at this level, so paint and body work on a diesel pusher is usually a full-coach job, and it needs a booth long enough to finish one in a single pass. Ours runs 40 feet and is fully enclosed, which is the reason a diesel pusher will drive past three nearer shops to get here. See RV paint and body repair and RV chassis service.
Do you service Class C and Super C motorhomes?
Built on a Ford E-450 or Chevrolet cutaway van chassis, with the cab from the donor vehicle and a coach built behind it. Winnebago, Thor Motor Coach, Jayco, Forest River and Coachmen are the volume builders. Super C models use a medium-duty truck chassis instead and behave more like a diesel pusher below the floor.
What we see on these coaches. The cab-over bunk is the signature Class C problem: it is the highest point on the vehicle, it takes the most weather, and water that gets in there travels. Sidewall and roof sealant maintenance matters more on a Class C than owners expect. Do you work on Class B camper vans?
Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit and RAM ProMaster underneath, with the coach built inside the van body. Winnebago, Thor and Coachmen all build on these platforms.
The house systems are the same ones we work on every day, twelve volt and shore power, water, propane appliances and roof air, just packaged tighter. The one thing worth saying honestly is that these vans are small enough that a body or paint repair often gets compared against an automotive body shop, so bring it in and we will tell you which one you actually want.
Do you service travel trailers, fifth wheels and toy haulers?
No engine, no chassis service, and a completely different set of problems. Grand Design, Forest River, Keystone, Jayco and Heartland are the volume builders in Southern California, and towables are a large share of what comes through the shop.
What we see on these. Laminated sidewalls where water has got behind the skin. Roof membrane at the seams and around every roof item. Slide-out mechanisms, and on towables the mechanism type matters: in-wall electric systems fail differently from hydraulic ones, and forcing a slide that has lost sync turns an adjustment into a repair. Running gear, axles, bearings and suspension, which nobody inspects until something is smoking on the 15. Toy hauler ramp doors and their seals, which take more abuse than anything else on the trailer.

Why does the badge on your RV matter less than you think?
Here is the part most owners have never been told. Very little of what fails on a recreational vehicle was made by the company whose name is on it.
The generator is Cummins Onan. The roof air, the refrigerator and the water heater come from Dometic, Coleman, Norcold or Suburban. The awning is Carefree or Dometic. The slide mechanisms, the axles, the suspension and the brakes are supplier parts shared across dozens of brands. The chassis is Ford, Freightliner, Spartan, Chevrolet, Mercedes or RAM.
What the RV manufacturer actually builds is the structure, the floorplan, and the decisions about how all of those pieces were assembled. That is real, and it is where brand-specific knowledge earns its keep, because two coaches with identical appliances can be very different to work on depending on how the builder routed the plumbing or mounted the slide.
But it means the honest answer to "do you work on my brand" is almost always yes, and the useful question is a different one: has this shop worked on this kind of coach, with these systems, on this chassis. That one we can answer directly, in person, with your coach in front of us.

Do I have to take my RV to a dealer for my brand?
While a coach is inside its coverage period and the manufacturer is paying, the manufacturer decides where that work happens, so make that call first. Outside of it, the choice belongs to you, and that covers nearly everything that rolls through our gate: collision, paint, roofs, slides and any repair an owner is funding directly.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work on my brand?
Almost certainly. Start from your coach type above, because the type is what decides the job. If your RV does not obviously belong in one of those five groups, call and describe it to us.
Are you an authorized service center for my brand?
No, and we would rather say it than dance around it. We are an independent shop doing collision, full body paint, roofs, slides, house systems and chassis work in one building, family-owned in Chino since 1967. Anything a manufacturer is covering, start with the manufacturer.
Can you get parts for my brand?
Usually, and quicker than owners expect, because the thing that failed was almost never made by the company on the badge. The exceptions are body caps, exterior panels and interior trim, which are model-year specific and where availability, not labor, sets the schedule. You will hear which situation you are in before the coach is booked in, not afterwards.
Is my RV too old to be worth repairing?
Age is the wrong number to look at. Structure and floor are the two that decide it, because that is where real money goes. A sound coach with tired paint is worth doing. A soft floor with the sidewalls letting go usually is not, and you will get that answer from us before you have spent anything.
Do you offer mobile repair or house calls?
No, on any brand. We are an in-shop facility at 13788 Oaks Ave in Chino, and the reasons are practical rather than commercial: a paint booth cannot travel, structural work needs the coach properly supported, and a generator has to run under load before anyone can honestly say it is fixed. If yours will not drive, call the shop before you arrange anything.
How far do people travel to get here?
We sit where the 60 meets the 71. Chino Hills, Diamond Bar and Montclair are next door. Upland, Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga are a short run up the 15. Corona, Norco, Eastvale and Riverside come across on the 91, and Yorba Linda and North Orange County come down the 57. On paint work people drive considerably further than that, because 40-foot booths are thin on the ground.
