Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler Service and Repair in Chino, CA

Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler have been putting coaches on the road for a long time, and a lot of them are still out there. Most of what we see from these two marques was built fifteen, twenty or twenty-five years ago, is in good structural shape, and needs somebody willing to work on it properly instead of telling the owner to go buy something newer. McBride's does that work in Chino: engines and transmissions, slide rooms, roofs, house systems, and collision and full body paint in a 40-foot enclosed booth. Family-owned here since 1967.

Why are Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler on the same page

Why are Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler on the same page?

Because they are the same company and, underneath, often the same coach. Both are REV Recreation Group brands and have shared a corporate parent and a supplier path for years, alongside American Coach at the top of the range. Both still have current model-year lineups.

From a repair standpoint that matters more than the badge does. A Fleetwood Bounder and a Holiday Rambler Vacationer of the same era are closer to each other in chassis, layout logic, slide hardware and house systems than either is to a coach from a different builder, and a shop that knows one knows the other. If you own one of these and you are trying to work out whether we are the right shop, the answer does not change depending on which of the two names is on the front.

Which Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler models do you work on?

Which Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler models do you work on

All of them, and the older ones are genuinely welcome.

- Fleetwood, gas Class A: Bounder, Flair, Southwind, Pace Arrow.
- Fleetwood, diesel: Discovery and Discovery LXE.
- Fleetwood, Class C and smaller: Fortis, Frontier, Pulse.
- Holiday Rambler, gas Class A: Vacationer, Admiral, Invicta.
- Holiday Rambler, diesel: Endeavor, Navigator, Nautica, Armada.

American Coach models are the same family and are also welcome. What sits underneath each class, and why it changes the work, is on our RV brands we service page.

Model years going back to the 1990s are normal here rather than exceptional. If your coach is from a discontinued line, that is not a reason we will turn it away. It is a reason to read the next two sections.

Can you still get parts for a coach this old?

It depends entirely on which kind of part has failed, and that is the single most useful thing an owner of an older coach can understand before making any calls.

Supplier components are usually the easy case.

The generator, the roof air, the refrigerator, the water heater, the awning, the slide motor, the converter: none of these was built by Fleetwood or Holiday Rambler. They came from outside suppliers who sold the same units across the whole industry, and many of those suppliers are still in business, still making a successor unit, and still supporting the older one or offering something that fits its place. A twenty-year-old coach with a dead appliance is often a very ordinary repair.

Coach-specific parts are the hard case.

Front and rear caps, sidewall panels, specific windows, interior cabinetry and trim, and anything cosmetic that was made for one line in one model year. When a line has been out of production for years, those are the parts that decide whether a repair takes two weeks or two months, and sometimes whether it makes sense at all.

What that means practically.

When you call, tell us the year, the marque and the model, and what failed. If it is a supplier component we can usually tell you quickly what the path looks like. If it is coach-specific, we will tell you that up front, because a realistic answer about a part is worth more to you than an optimistic one. Either way we would rather have the conversation before your coach is in pieces than after.

My coach has low miles but it is twenty years old. What needs attention?

Age, not mileage, is the right way to think about a motorhome that has spent most of its life parked, and this is where owners of these coaches most often get caught out.

$

The engine and its fluids.

Oil, coolant and belts age on a calendar, not on an odometer. Coolant loses its corrosion inhibitors whether the coach moves or not, and rubber hardens. A coach showing forty thousand miles can be well overdue on everything that matters. Our RV engine service and repair page covers that work.

$

The transmission.

Fluid degrades over time and heat, and a heavy vehicle that tows or climbs is hard on it. It is also the component where deferred service turns into a genuinely expensive failure rather than an inconvenient one. See our RV transmission service page.

$

Brakes, suspension and tires.

Components corrode and rubber ages while the coach sits. Tires in particular time out long before they wear out, and a tire that looks fine can be well past its date code. That work is on our RV chassis service side of the shop, and everything in this section is capability rather than a manufacturer certification claim.

$

The slide rooms.

Seals compress, harden and stop sealing, and mechanisms that sit unused seize. The tell is a room that starts to rack or one that hesitates in a spot it did not used to. Our RV slide-out repair page covers it.

$

The roof penetrations.

Sealant shrinks and splits on a schedule that has nothing to do with how much the coach is used. Our RV roof repair and replacement page explains how that gets judged.

Is a twenty-five-year-old coach worth repairing

Is a twenty-five-year-old coach worth repairing?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no, and we would rather give you the real answer than the one that books the job.

The honest version is that it comes down to two things, and neither of them is the odometer or the interior. Is the floor solid, and is the structure sound? Those are what cost real money, and they are what an owner cannot easily assess from the driver's seat. A coach with a sound floor, a sound structure and a tired everything-else is usually worth doing, because everything else is replaceable in an order you can control and a budget you can plan. A coach with a soft floor and water in the walls usually is not, because the repair can run past what the coach is worth when it is finished. Our RV floor repair page covers what that work actually involves.

The way to find out is to have it looked at before you commit to anything. We will walk the coach with you and show you what we are seeing rather than handing you a number and asking you to trust it. If the answer is that we would not spend the money in your position, you will hear that, and it will cost you nothing to have heard it.

Do you come to me, or does the coach come to you?

The coach comes to us. McBride's is an in-shop facility at 13788 Oaks Ave in Chino, and we do not run mobile service or house calls of any kind. For the work on this page that is not a compromise. An engine or transmission job needs the coach over a bay, a slide room needs it level and supported, and paint needs an enclosed booth. If the coach is not currently drivable, sort out transport before the appointment and talk to us first so we know what is arriving and when.

Frequently asked questions about Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler service

My model line has not been built in fifteen years. Will you still take it?

Yes. Discontinued lines are a large share of what comes through, and the age of the line is not what decides whether a repair makes sense. The condition of the floor and structure is.

I have a diesel pusher. Is that different?

Yes, meaningfully. Air brakes, air suspension and a rear-mounted diesel behave differently from a gas coach and get diagnosed differently. Tell us it is a pusher when you call and mention the model, because the answer to almost every question changes.

Do I have to go back to a dealer?

For manufacturer-covered repairs on a coach still inside its coverage period, the manufacturer decides where that work happens, so start there. On a coach of the age this page is mostly about, that rarely applies, and the shop is your choice.

Can you match the paint on an older coach whose finish has faded?

Yes. Matching into a finish that has already aged, rather than to what the color was when it left the factory, is normal work here and is what our color matching and the booth exist for. More on our RV paint and body repair page.

How do I find out what I actually have?

The data plate, usually inside a cabinet door or a compartment, carries the model and year. Have that and the chassis details when you call and the first conversation gets much shorter.

Where are you?

13788 Oaks Ave, Chino, CA 91710, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. We are near where the 60 meets the 71, which puts us within a reasonable drive of most of the Inland Empire, the 91 and 15 corridor, and North Orange County.

Labor rate is kinda high so I’d only use them for the stuff I couldn’t do myself. Overall good experience. Seemed like it was there longer than needed could’ve been waiting on parts not sure. I’d use them again. - 6/17/2026

I took my 1997 renovation project Fleetwood PaceArrow in for major mechanical service. I also paid for an hour of inspection on my failed slide out and got a great quote on the labor and parts for when I'm ready to invest in that repair next. I was a little weary initially that the service price on the phone when I called was told to me as around $500 range and then in person at drop-off the price was actually around $900 for the major service. But the girl who took my appointment over the phone had warned me that she was new and wasn't certain of the prices on anything. The service was great and I'm glad I chose to continue despite the wide price difference to what I was anticipating. Mike and Danny are stellar, and I know the place I'll be bringing my renovation back to with any repair needs in the future that I can't handle myself. The quotes for the slide out, and suggested drive train work, were both also very reasonable. - 6/04/2026

Took my toy hauler for an estimate to fix slide, generator and transfer fuel pump. Parts needed to be ordered and since I had a trip coming up I picked up my trailer. When parts arrived took it back and it was completed in 2 days. Their staff is very friendly. What I really like about them is their scheduling. Gave me a date and time for both drop offs and pick ups. I was very satisfied with their work and highly recommend them. - 3/12/2026
